Greater Glasgow and the Clyde Valley are located in the center of western Scotland. It is an area that extends from Greenock to Leadhills and includes major cities such as Paisley, Motherwell and Lanark, as well as the fantastic city of Glasgow.

Glasgow Airport is on the west end of the city (about 20 minutes from downtown) and Glasgow Prestwick International Airport is to the south (about 45 minutes away). A fantastic bus service connects Glasgow Airport with the city center. Glasgow Prestwick has a station and regular train services to the city.

The train service and the road network that runs through the central strip are both excellent and offer great road and rail connections between Glasgow and other cities in Scotland, as well as in England.

How to get around

Explore the area using the efficient bus service and excellent train connections. Or rent a car and travel wherever you want. In the city you can visit the main attractions by metro, bus, train or taxi, or hop-on-hop-off buses, where you can get off and go back up in different parts of the route with a single ticket. Many of the restaurants, pubs and attractions are within walking distance between them.
