The frosty mornings have already started and Salt and Grit Solutions Ltd are geared up for the coming winter season and look forward to supplying customers throughout Renfrewshire and mainland UK with de-icing rock salt.

Salt and Grit Solutions Ltd is based at North Arkleston Farm in Paisley, conveniently next to Junction 27 of the M8 motorway. The company supplies rock salt to individuals, local authorities and businesses throughout the UK – helping to keep schools, hospitals and other government buildings clear of ice. They are also the primary salt supplier for many of the main gritting companies, who work tirelessly throughout the night to keep our roads safe.

The company was formed in 2010, the ‘worst winter since records began’. This was the year that temperatures plummeted to as low as -20 ⁰C. The team at Salt and Grit Solutions could not have hoped for a better start as everyone quickly learned the integral role that de-icing salt plays in keeping the country moving. There was no choice but to learn how to work quickly and efficiently, working long hours each day to deliver salt where it was needed, as promised.

It was during this winter that the company established a good reputation within the industry, and now new customers also benefit from this experience. The company believes that the key to building successful relationships is to understand individual needs and work out a service plan to suit, and of course offer competitive pricing!

Salt and Grit Solutions may be better known to the people of Paisley through another arm of the business, Rukeri. The Rukeri brand supplies a range of landscaping products to trade and public, specialising in growing and supplying turf from their fields at North Arkleston Farm. Rukeri enjoyed a very busy summer, helping to transform the gardens of residents in the local area. Although both business activities tend to be seasonal Rukeri is still operational during the winter months (turf is cut all year round providing the ground isn’t frozen solid!).

The company facilitates deliveries of rock salt throughout all of the UK, however a fantastic service with short delivery lead times is offered to the people of Paisley, as to be expected from a local supplier. Salt is also available to purchase from the depot at North Arkleston Farm. Do pop in, as the team would be delighted to see you.
