A dedicated section of the council website has been created to notify residents on service information during Christmas and New Year- and regular social media messaging will be issued throughout.

The council will close on Friday 23 December 2016 and re-open on Thursday 5 January 2017.

Although most council offices will be closed, all essential services will still be operating to reduce any impact to residents.

Information on opening and closing hours of facilities, bin collections, council tax payments and all other relevant details can be found at: www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/festiveserviceinfo

Councillor Tommy Williams, convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Housing and Community Safety Policy Board said: “While council offices may be closed over the Christmas and New Year period, there will still be a substantial number of staff working to ensure essential services continue to operate.

“We recognise that residents may have queries during this period but we would urge them to take the time to check out the information on our website as the answer may be contained there.

“For example, residents don’t have to wait until the customer contact centre re-opens to pay their rent or council tax. This can be completed online through our MyAccount service.

“Using our online services can save you time by not having to wait until we return to full service delivery on Thursday 5 January.”
