The next event for www.facebook.com/groups/FacebayFundraising/ (find us on facebook) is a sponsored cycle, starting at Millport on 4th August 2012 to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support.
Meeting point is at the Largs Ferry Terminal at 12 midday, where we will be catching the ferry across to Millport where the sponsored cycle will begin. The route round the island measures 10.5 miles but it is up to participants how far they want to go.

Everyone is welcome to join me, Irene McDonald, the creator of Facebay Fundraising and event organiser, and several others raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. Sponsor sheets are available on request, please email irenemcdonald@live.co.uk with your contact details to request one.

So far we have raised over £2,000.00 for MacMillan from the site and events we have organised, everyone is welcome to join the group and be a part of its success.
We have five charities which we support through the Facebay group: MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT, Alzheimer Scotland, R.A.H CHILDRENS WARD, PDSA and (MND) Motor Neurone Disease.

How the group works: People advertise their unwanted items to the site, e.g. household items, clothes, toys – anything which can be of use to someone in need.  The donation for the items bought goes to one of the charities above, whichever one the donor chooses. Please help spread the word about this group as it’s for a good cause, helping both people who don’t have much and good causes.
