Thousands turned out to celebrate Scotland’s Summer of Sport at Barshaw Park on Saturday for Barshaw Gala Day.
Local clubs provided free, fun sports activities to help get everyone in the sporting spirit, including football, hockey, basketball, rugby, American football and volleyball.
The funfair returned for thrill seekers young and old, while a selection of inflatables, along with free drop-in arts and crafts workshops and face-painting, added to the atmosphere.
Local musicians, dancers and walkabout acts wowed crowds throughout the day and there was a variety of community stalls and food vendors on site.
Barshaw Park also hosted a very special visitor, as Finnie, the Glasgow 2026 mascot, stopped by to say hello. She helped build excitement for the upcoming Commonwealth Games and even took a ride on the popular Barshaw Miniature Railway which was running throughout the day.
Barshaw Gala Day was sponsored by TrustFord Glasgow.
The next event in Renfrewshire is Sma’ Shot Day, taking place on Saturday 4 July. Visit www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/events for more information.
