Paisley based MJC LAW is proud to have been named a finalist in two categories in the Scottish Legal Awards 2026.
The family-run firm has been shortlisted for both Excellence in Community Care & Social Responsibility and Firm of the Year (Up to 250 Employees). The recognition comes during MJC LAW's tenth anniversary year and follows a period of growth, investment and continued commitment to the communities it serves.

Matthew Coffield commented:
“We are delighted to be shortlisted as finalist at the Scottish Legal Awards for the second year in a row. Continued recognition reflects our high standards at MJC LAW.
Previous finalists have been law firms of the very highest calibre, and this reflects well on the direction we are taking MJC LAW.”
Founded by Matthew Coffield in 2016, MJC LAW was established with a clear purpose: to protect people in debt from homelessness and improve access to justice. A decade later, that purpose remains at the heart of the Firm through its legal aid work and monthly pro bono legal clinics delivered in partnership with East Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau.

Over the past 12 months, the Firm has expanded to a team of nine through a combination of recruitment and internal progression, while continuing to strengthen its operations and invest in staff development.
The recognition follows an exceptional period for the Firm, which was named High Street Firm of the Year at the Herald Law Awards 2025 and has continued to build its reputation within both the legal profession and the wider community.

The Scottish Legal Awards recognise excellence across Scotland's legal profession, celebrating individuals, teams and firms making a significant contribution to the sector.
The Scottish Legal Awards will take place on Thursday 17th September 2026 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central.
